Youth in Action: Action 4.5.b – supporting information activities for young people and youth workers on the 2009 European elections
General Objective: YouEuroCitizen promotes active implication and develops a modern communication tool specially designed for young people life style, in order to encourage the concept of citizenship, European values, solidarity and tolerance between young people from different countries and different cultures and encourage young people, youth leaders and people working for youth organization to participate to the European Parliament Election in 2009.
YouEuroCitizen has as main target group young people between 18 and 30 years from Romania.
Implementation period: 7 months (January 2009 – July 2009)
The project outputs:
- enhance the knowledge and up to date information by creating a virtual debate platform special tailored for the young people needs of information about European Union Parliament, about European values and elections rules;
- offer a set of e-tools, which will allow the young people from Romania to retrieve “fresh” information regarding European Elections and their rights as European citizen;
- implement 4 seminars in four Romanian main geographical regions, which will assure opportunity to the young Romanian people to take part in the development of the Romanian society in general and the EU in particular by encourage their participation to vote;
- develop several printed promotional materials (leaflets, flyers etc.) about 2009 European elections in order to contribute to a better understanding and a better information on European values;
- organize one National Forum in Bucharest where will be invited Romanian European deputies and national deputies in order to share their experiences and knowledge and assure a better communication between politicians and young people.
JEUNE will send two experts at the National Forum and will monitor and disseminate the project initiatives.
