SME FIT II

JEUNE was partner of the “SME FIT II” project, led by UEAPME under the European Commission’s PHARE Business Support Programme.

The project aimed at transferring selected chapters of the community acquis to 4 target countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Turkey and at strengthening the SME organisations in these countries.

More than 30 project partners carried out a wide range of activities in the beneficiary countries creating a vast multiplier effect. The first activities started in autumn 2007 and lasted until June 2009. The role of JEUNE was to organise information seminars on young entrepreneurship in each one of target countries.

The first JEUNE seminar took place in October 2008 in Bucharest, Romania.

Workshops in Ankara and Zagreb followed in February 2009 and finished in March 2009 in Bulgaria with a presentation on what kind of services UPEE could provide to start-ups and young entrepreneurs.

During all seminars JEUNE presented the role of a young entrepreneurs organisation at national and European level as well as different EU policies, that JEUNE was currently working on.

These seminars were also a good occasion for JEUNE to get to know how existing SMEs organisations work in the four target countries as well as to promote the need for young entrepreneurs organisations.

As a result, UPEE founded the Young Association of Private Economic Enterprises and JEUNE hopes to welcome them as full JEUNE members still in 2009.
